Just to clarify is it coffee or caffeine vampires have an issue with?
If its the latter perhaps Maud could take a nice cold Pepsi or Coca-Cola on her trip or of course there is always red bull. Just the thing for when you are tired and in fanged companyMay 9, 2018 at 6:31 pm #511
Got sacked into YouTube + some how ended up watching The Met Gala fashions for most of the last hour! – I’m not going to even start … I’ll just say … interesting 😇May 9, 2018 at 6:32 pm #512
Got sucked in … not sacked 😤May 9, 2018 at 7:50 pm #516
I believe you were worried about big brother and things that go boom. Big brother gets upset if you discuss HOW to make things go boom. Discussions like we were having regarding dust explosions are all in open source literature, or in widely-publicized news reports. If I were to put on the demolition instructor hat, and start telling you how to create a dust explosion that will work on demand, they would quite properly be landing on my rear. I won’t do that. Kids in the chemestry class are bad enough. But I feel quite comfortable telling you that they are very picky in relation to air-fuel mixture, and vary widely between different fuels. Though that cement dust explosion on TWC makes me wonder what the specific ratio was in that case, since I would not have considered cement dust a viable fuel. Just as a point of scientific interest, of course.May 9, 2018 at 7:52 pm #517
Vampires are sensitive to the caffein.May 9, 2018 at 11:20 pm #520
Hi Nelson, to be honest my worry is not really ‘big brother’ but the fact that I’ve been lucky to always live in democratic countries so I’m fairly free and maybe too thoughtless with my thoughts 😊
I don’t want to thoughtlessly say something stupid – which I probably won’t – but if I do you all have my full permission to set me right … 👍
Maybe too many thoughts there 😁 but I’m not worried … maybe I should be 😇
Anyway, how about them … Met Gala outfits / Avenger movie / Red-White-Pink Sox ? 😘May 9, 2018 at 11:23 pm #521
Now I’m worried that I’m incapable of writing anything without attaching emojis or dots and dashes – … 😜May 9, 2018 at 11:47 pm #524
Lol that’s brilliant- i think that’s one to share with the comments section of the chapter- @KC it sounds like Mauds already got her plan for the vigil set and is sending out advertising 😂😂May 10, 2018 at 2:06 am #527
Ilona has revealed the cover of Hugh’s book on her blog + fbMay 10, 2018 at 4:45 am #529
Just had a look at the cover thanks for letting me know to check for it.
In regards to the big brother thing it’s something I’m paranoid about because of where I work. It’s a big engineering company and I am a very small cog far from the wheel but as it does some work for the MOD & it takes security very seriously.
Last year they got in a speaker from Britain’s anti terrorist department (can’t remember their official name) and all several thousand of the staff were sent in groups to a two hour presentation. It was a very practical talk details of some of the plots they had caught, some very close to home and things that could attract very unwanted attention on the net. Plus what to look for as suspicious activity.
Since then we’ve had one bomb scare, huddled in a car park for two hours while the bomb squad did their thing, fortunately it turned out to be a false alarm. On top of that another of the companies sites has had a car ram its gate. They’ve now fitted fold down metal road teeth at all entry gates
I know I’m safe where I work the security is much better than most main stream large companies but this does not stop me looking over my shoulder.May 10, 2018 at 8:54 am #530
Thanks Sally – keep safe 👍May 10, 2018 at 3:23 pm #537
Earlier in this topic you suggested coordinating chat times for those keen on a subject – or the idea…
How might that work – given that there must be some posters from different time-zones/countries?May 10, 2018 at 3:35 pm #539
I have to agree with Norbert on the thread comments. In addition, if you go with the chapter idea, no matter when someone comes to the table (newbies vs. old timers) they can join the discussion where they need to and not get too many spoilers. Sometimes that can turn people away. I am fairly new to BDH and think you guys are a hoot and a half. I expect to enjoy myself on many levels for a very long time. Thanks!May 10, 2018 at 3:51 pm #541
. I encourage you to keep looking over your shoulder. The idiot liberal laft over here still refuses to recognize that Western nations have been under armed attack by radical muslims since the Munich Olympics. There is a long, fully-documented string of attacks, plane and ship hijackings, and other attacks at either specific targets or the “to whom it may concern” mass attacks like the World Trade Center attacks since that time. Every time I hear one of our idiots bleating “gun control” I encourage them to go to Afghanistan and talk to those people about giving up their AK-47s. So far, even our idiots haven’t taken me up on that challenge. Moreover, federal law prevents anyone from tracking, or checking up on the people most likely to be grabbing a gun and irresponsibly starting to shoot: those people diagnosed with mental issues that have violent tendencies. When you purchase a weapon over here, part of the paperwork requires you to answer if you are under the care of a psychologist. The government, state or federal, is forbidden to check any database (or establish any data base) to see if the person is under any sort of medical treatment, or check to see what that treatment is for. Much less figure out if the purchaser told the truth. The overriding law is called HIPA. Our problem isn’t a gun control issue, it’s a people control issue in the face of some completely idiotic laws, and some additional people not doing their jobs, or being responsible.May 10, 2018 at 11:20 pm #545

@Roger – I think you might be confusing me with someone else?
